Hi Aces
I downloaded photos to CD-R which I now wish to view, but the are displayed as either, ixdb, dbt or pspa files. I have tried opening with CorelAlbum 6, Picture It & Adobe Elements all without success. Where did I go wrong & please how can I view my photos? I am running Windows Xp.
Newbie.

Look here:

http://filext.com/index.php

The file extentions are not associated with any specific program:

XDB = not listed.
DBT = Database Text.
PSPA - not listed.

What website did you download the images from?

Gill :)

Thanks Gill for replying.
The photos were downloaded from my digital camera & placed into My Pictures folder, which was then downloaded to the CD-R.

Hi Gill
Success! I popped in my CD & opened the photo files with Piccasa no problem.
What I was doing before was; clicking on 'My Computer' on desktop, then clicking on CD drive, which then displayed the strange files.
I am a happy fella again.
Cheers, Gill

Hi Gill
Forget my last reply, I got it wrong & showed my complete lack of knowledge of all things computer.
I did not open CD-R with Piccasa, the photos that I found on Piccasa were put there before they were commited to the CD. Silly me, sorry for confusing you.

If you were saving the files from within Picassa they may have been saved as project files only, using fragments. A CD-R is incapable of saving fragments (packet files) and then piecing them together again. For that you need packet-writing software (e.g. Nero or Roxio) and CD-RW disks.

If using a photo editing program, they should first be saved to the hard drive as image files (e.g. JPG, BMP), then merely copied across to the CD from My Computer as complete files.

Hope this helps.

Gill :)

Hi Gill
Thanks for info, I have a photo editing prog, so I will stick with that for a while & use it as you advise. To use packet-writing software will be a giant leap into the unknown for me.
I have had success using your wise words using photo editing prog, I hope that I have said goodbye to strange sounding file names.
