Default Save desk space & time = stack 2 laptops = carefully

Im trying to fix a sick opened desktop so the flat screen monitor has to sit on top of a Sony VCR OK. the old Advent 8109 laptop is happy to have the Dell N5040 laptop carefully placed on its closed lid protected by a folded microfibre cleaning cloth. All the USB connector ports & mains PSU leads are easy to inter change as now above or below.
As always try NOT to disturb any SCART connectors (which are working OK) & RF Aerial connectors in & out of VCR's to say a TV monitor.
Allow plenty of time to check units are OK = at least 5 mins before use....= maybe more as CyberLink V8 seems to drop its dongle driver now & then = copy paste the driver CD to an easy to locate DIR to update the driver.
NB video output OK is easy to check BUT also check the audio is OK by low volume on the PC speakers...if not update driver....
Belt and braces is to use the VCR to record what you need AT the same time and then if eg no audio use Magix Rescue Tapes V4 to make a mpg or DVD from the VHS good tape....

Exclamation Only use a Laptop on a hard surface eg tray

The microfibre cloth mentioned in the above post is to provide a scratch free & non slip mat for the lower laptop lid. Laptops must be used on a hard surface so their cooling fan(s) can circulate cooling air around their innards...forget this and use on an eiderdown / duvet etc can very easily result in a cooked HDD CPU etc....= very expensive

Default Multi TV System VCR & TV, DVD Region Player info

DVD Players are set to either 1 of 4 ? 5 World regions or Multi = all of them. DVD's are sold as OK for one region or multi - NB PAL is for the UK...be careful buying DVD from Amozon.com = could be a USA version but amazon.co.uk should be OK for the UK. Its possible to change the region of a DVD player by its own remote control (if you have the code or by renting a RC from a code changer....
Beware you can only change codes say 5 times so get it right first time...
Multi system VCR are just that world wide they can have ? 8 systems & play VHS tapes from anywher OK on auto selection or a bit better if you pre select the VHS system.
Multi system TV can have upto 14 drifferent system for worldwide use & have autoselect or you select. All of the above was OK years ago for Analog VCR & TV but is relevant for avid media changers...GOK if Digital Signals / Sets have made life easer ot much worse......
Looking for links will save then edit if I find them...

Wink Good Magix 1 out of 2 support driver download

Begining to look like a re run of CyberLink Director V8 uSB driver problem maybe due to a W7 update..anyway Magix has got my Dell N5040 AV OK but the Tosh satellite L750 is still frozen video sound OK...with the same driver download???? but it looks like the same USB 2861 is used by MV4 & CLDir V8 Ill try it on the Tosh - even a system restore to before trouble is no good....
W7 is not as easy to disable drivers as XP pity...magix email support is OK

Default W7 Tosh L750 or Dell 64 or 32bit Black or red & white Dongle Driver Situation

Magix advice to use the correct driver (red & white) isnt working = still frozen video & good audio So its going to be try all of the above AND if all else fails (IAEF??) the USB 2861 KWorld DVD Maker Mk2 driver which does work. Pity I cant remember which driver sorted out the Dell....keeping records of driver shuffling results will be a very good idea.....
Magix support has gone all coy on the Email front....
