Default dvd combo wont burn cds

hi there
my gsa-h31n combo dvd+rw wont burn cds it burns dvd ok no probs it is fitted in a ibm thinkcentre with xp pro os i have updated the driver but just the same any ideas please,

It uses different lasers to burn CDs and DVDs. Its not unusual for one to fail. Replace the device.

Default cd wont burn/ dvds ok

hi there
before i replace the combo dvd/cd i have noticed in the disk management that the main hdd (c) drive is number 0 (zero) also the cd drive number is 0 (zero) will this make any difference to cd not burning also could the cd drive number be changed ( not the letter)

This is normal. Do not change the drive number.

As calimanco said, get a new disc drive.
