Default Subscriptions?

Probably not the correct forum to post this, but can't see where else will do?

Not sure if it's just me or what, but after posting a new thread I used to go to the subscribe page, and subscribe with instant replies. now I have to unsubscribe, then re-subscribe, as it's automatically subscribed.
Is that right, or is there another way to deal with this?

I've just tried what you described by going to the Subscribe option in the menu above the post so I'll see what happens. I think there's an option to subscribe at the bottom of the edit window. I must admit I always forget until after I've subscribed.

I think it worked because I got an email telling me that you have posted in the thread. If you forget to do it. Click on the Thread Tools option in the menu bar just above the text of the thread and then click on Subscribe to this thread.
Alternatively the subscription options appear again when you reply in a post. I'm looking at them now the third box down below the Submit Reply button called Thread Subscription
Kind regards
Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm not sure if I explained my problem clearly enough.
What I tried to say is that when I go to thread tools and click on subscribe, it already shows That I am subscribed, but I wasn't getting the usual reminder emails, so what I found I had to do was un-subscribe, then re- subscribe in order to get emails. hope that makes sense.

Have you looked in your UserCP (Control Panel) -> Edit Options -> Messaging & Notification -> Default Thread Subscription Mode -> Check to see if 'Instant email notification' is set?

If you make any changes, press the Save Changes tab at the bottom of the page.
