I'm Guessing... You're all sitting through your own giant Windows Updates

I was expecting a repeat of the Vista SP1 chaos

Laptop all Updated
But I'm gonna wait till the mornin to update the Desktop Computer.
Couldn't possibly sit through another hour of Windows Updates tonight.

Tomorrow... I'm Hoping For Lots Of IE8 Goss!
1/ There were quite a few questions to answer just after installing.
* Not Sure I Answered Them All Right!
2/ Can you see the Compatibility Button in your IE8 ?
* I Can't Find Mine!

I'm an IE8 Noob ... Need Help!

You can tell I'm ready for me bed.
I'm Goin Doolally!

Dat's one of the beauties of Linux, updates don't take forever and we don't have to put up with IE in any of it's guises!

Zoejoe,

It`s not on its way - it`s been here for some time. (OK you may mean via Windows Updates)

I downloaded it and installed it on top of IE7 to give it a try. Yes, it is much better than previous versions but I only used it for a day or so then reverted back to the browser I like very much - Firefox.

I didn`t have any problems with it at all, so give it a whirl for yourself.
I like the add-ons which can be used with FF to customise for advert free browsing, etc.

No, IE8 is not for me.

Zoejoe,

* I Can't Find Mine!

Just had a quick look and you should find Compatability View and Compatability View Settings in the drop-down under Tools on the menu bar.

IE8 shouldn't install without asking. For people who use IE most of the time it would be wise to hang back or install Firefox.

Actually every one should install Firefox, even if only as a back up. It's silly not to.

Bob,

Why do you say that? It wasn`t a beta version - it was the final, which, while I used it for a day or so found it to be very stable indeed. No problems whatsoever.

Although not a fan of IE I wonder why the differentiation with saying this about IE and not every other new programme update which is released.

I mean IE shouldn't install itself through auto updates without prompting. It's supposed to ask

Thanks Fletch
I had started to wonder if that was the case.

I'm just getting IE8 settled in to the Desktop at the moment.
Not Sure I'm Keen On The Idea of - Accelerators
When I answered the installation questions... I Said - Turn Em All Off!
Not sure if I did the right thing or not.
Does anyone know if they can be turned back on later? ( Should I Change My Mind! )
Don't Like Or Want - Website Suggestions
And...
I Don't know how to put a new Favourite in a folder.
If I click the * ... It ends up on the bar

To Be Honest!
I'm still clingin on to me Yum at the moment.
