Adobe is a resource hog. Try increasing virtual memory to a fixed size of 1534 mb.Its in Control Panel>System Properties>Advanced>Performance>Settings>Advanced.

Photodeluxe is an old program now. I use it with XP and get problems. You might be better getting a new photo editing prog. If you use it all the time.

Rogelio,
sorry to arrive so late on the scene. I have used Photodeluxe for years and love it. I ran into the same problem and, after some investigation and tinkering, managed to solve it.

The problem is not solved by changing the amount of RAM but by changing the setting for the Virtual Memory. I am guessing that PhotoDeluxe requires a minimum amount of Virtual Memory which is a multiple of the installed RAM and, as RAM grows, so must the Virtual Memory. That or PhotoDeluxe does not account correctly for RAM and/or Virtual Memory, which also could be.

For more information check out this page.

If you are using version 3 then:

Go to the photodeluxe folder and rename

urlmon.dll as urlmon.old
and
shlwapi.dll as shlwapi.old

These functions will then be taken over by Windows' own versions.
Things should then work OK.

Well, it might be useful information posted by the last two contributors, but I suspect that the best part of two years on, the points will be no help to the originator.

Point taken. But it did make me get out the old software and try it again. Yes, it is still a very nice useful program for photo editing.

Muchas gracias, GS3.

Y listo
