Default My PC will not see USB cable or my Mobile Phone

I've a SonyEricsson K750i Mobile Phone and I'm trying to connect to my PC.

I've downloaded the software "PC Suite" from SonyEricsson's website for the Model of phone and installed it. When I connect the USB cable and the Phone, they are not seen as new devices for installing.

If I go to Device Manager they are not listed in "Ports or USB". If I go to "Add Hardware" they are not found and if I go through to install the driver manually for the cable, a message comes up saying the drivers are not digitally signed and will not install it. Yet this is from SonyEricsson's offical site.

How can I overcome this and get windows to see them and working.

I'm running XP with SP2

Clifftop

Done it and still the same.

One thing I've not mentioned is; when the cable is attached to the phone, it flashes for a second on the phone to say "Charging" and the icon shows its charging. When it does not actually charge the phone.

Charging from usb is a very slow process.
Did you try the connection before actually installing the software, either way have a look at this:http://tinyurl.com/k6eng

Thanks for the link.

I've 4 usb ports from the motherboard and 1 pci card with 2ports as USB2 I think. How do I get the main supply from the Hub as mentioned in the link. The COM Ports are already enabled by the S/E Phone Manager. I also get the same message "Not Connected"

Also I've noticed that when the Suite is installed, then look again at the "Add Hardware" and go through again to install manually, then look at the drop down list for "Sony Ericsson Communications" then look at the other drop down list for the K750i USB Cable. It only lists for Serial, Bluetooth or IrDA Modems for a number of Models of SonyEricsson phones but no USB or Serial cables for this or most.

if you don't see any usb devices in the device manager there not installed.
and or usb drivers not installed.or usb is not enabled in the bios.

what kind of cable has your mobile phone.serial usb or dose it contain
an ir on your phone. if it has an ir this stands for infra red. so you would need to
enable this in the bios.to communicate with phone.

now dose the phone not have its own charging unit to an electricity wall socket.

I have the same phone and you don't need to do that,

I did use the data suite for the phone connected with the cable, but use bluetooth, its miles better

If you still want to use the cable,
run the software first, then connect the phone, the computer will see it then loads the drivers from the software you have just put on your PC

well maybe thats what tel will have to do. use bluetooth as well as he says
when he looks in device manager no usb.but dose the cable have to be specific
for bluetooth. or is there a dongle you get or what not to well up on bluetooth.
but why dose he not see usb2. or even usb1.1 not under on the device manager.
unless hes not working the phone suite. the right way or something.
when hes installing it.maybe the phone suite is like usb modems installations.
you have to install the software first. then it will ask to put in the usb cable.
but i can't understand why there is no usb under the device manager.strange
this is it not.i was on the sony erricson site. and there is 2 suites for download. 1 disc and 1 ordinary.but hes says also about the charging unit on usb .i think he mention this.but sure dose the mobile phone. not have its own charging unit to
the electrical wall socket.

Yes ian your right,it does have its own charger that plugs into the wall socket,

it can also charge from the usb port while its connected to the pc,and like you said before,it will take much longer to charge,
he will have to buy a bluetooth dongle(from 10)
but first things first he will have to get the usb sockets working on the PC

yes thats right he will have to do that. but if there not in the device manager. he will have go into the bios an enable them. or less the connections going from the usb ports. is not connected to the pins on his motherboard.

thanks for your reply
